Home 03:05
That bell rang, for three months straight, we were there to skate. Jumping off the train bridge, the water was always colder in early summer. All night awake. Then we’d drop in, my deck would break, always laughing and never afraid of shit. We just had to get our hands on something and destroy it. We’d take it up to the edge, hold it out, and let it go just to see it. They’d chase us around, we’d put a matchstick in the door, just to see it. Up that rail, onto the glass. Walking slowly, we’d hear it crack sometimes. Up there, nothing seemed to phase us. It was ours to take. All worn down, and it was okay. We were skating slowly and miles away from it. We didn’t know (we didn’t know) how much we’d miss those times on those days. It was Home. Nothing can replace it. There were nights we kept on skating. The sun, it was waiting. We wouldn’t stop until the bearings were dead. Those times keep on giving. I won’t take it for granted. There were lies I will take to my grave.

What part of me can I give away today? I know it’s going down, even though I fight it. I tell you what you wanna hear, put the smile on my face. Is this the shit eating grin that you remember? I do my best to pretend. While you take every inch you can. Only because I allow it to happen. I tell you these things hoping you’ll say “I know.” (Confidence crumbling down again) Nothing really changing but still I hope I deserve more than this. My fears all seem to arrange when I need them to disappear. (It would be the perfect summer) You ask me if I can give an impossible piece of me to you. Out comes the yes, in(side my head)the no. I’m about to explode. Time spent hating myself again for something I did. Time spent hating myself again for something I said.

You Said 02:33
The perfect time, The perfect home. I still think of it. I’d tell you “I’ll have it all myself, I just haven’t yet.” You said “It’ll end up the same.” How come it’s so fucked then? “It’ll be okay.” Why can’t I see it that way? Hold on, how did that perfect thing end? How did those few years just slip right through my hands? I wanna feel that free again. I’ll hold what it felt like. Everything must end. I’d call to lie over the phone. You knew I did. I’d tell you all the reasons the world wanted me dead. You said, “well that’s how it goes.” You were pushing me so my skin wasn’t paper thin. You just wanted me to grow up. Somehow I did. It’s not for lack of trying. Your love couldnt stop it. The flatline was calling. Nothing could stop me.

So I showed up in my shitty Cressida and You let me through your gate. I couldn’t hit the buttons right. I was so nervous. You said “Park right here. Nobody lives next to me.” So we went out to sushi on 82nd and your eyes cut right through me. Those days make me regret everything I did. It’s the thoughts that pull me under, and things I wish I never said. Okay I see it’s like that. I didn’t mean to break you like that. Why is your color like that? I didn’t want to see you like that. The man that you knew back then, he isn’t coming back, I swear. And the thought that I hurt you like that, it breaks me in half. Can I mend the messes that I made for 15 years? Now you show me everything is love with you right here.
